On August 4, coinciding with the brand’s 1^st year birthday, Naledi Copenhagen will present its new collection at CPH Vision in Copenhagen.

Luxury with a conscience

Despite its young age, Naledi Copenhagen is one of the pioneers of sustainable exotic leather fashion. The collection is designed in Denmark with focus on sustainability and ethics. Each piece is exquisitely handmade by talented local craftsmen in South Africa. Naledi sources ostrich leather exclusively from South African ostrich farms, which not only produce the best quality ostrich leather in the world, but also provide fair employment to thousands of previously disadvantaged South Africans.

90% of the Naledi Copenhagen range is manufactured by the same supplier, an artisan studio in the heart of Cape Town, which trains local underprivileged women the skill of leather craft. An additional supplier, part of a community upliftment project, located in the ostrich farms area of Klein Karoo in South Africa, has been added at the end of 2010.

Naledi Copenhagen’s products are handmade. This takes time. We believe in slow fashion as a means to encourage quality and individuality over mass-produced disposable fashion.  The result of this inspired human effort, combined with the luxurious and durable leathers, is products of timeless appeal, that will last for generations.
